BIO

Martikah Williams, a graduate of the Stella Adler Center for the Arts, is a multidisciplinary artist, teaching artist and arts administrator. She often shares her creativity in educational settings including programs with 100 Black Men of Syracuse, New York Theatre Workshop and ArtsConnection.

 

As a co-founder and executive member of Black Artist Collective CNY, Martikah is most proud of her efforts in developing new works/programs that create paid opportunities for Black/Brown artists and are rooted in social justice. Within BAC she works as an advocate, organizer, grant writer, producer and multidisciplinary/teaching artist. Advocating for Black & Brown artists to have access to more funding opportunities and work in arts organizations that are committed to safe and equitable practices.

 

Martikah’s hope is that through her work she will inspire representation and action, intentionally creating more opportunities for people of color and women identifying artists.
